There are so many different forms and style of photography in this world, each so different and requiring new equipment and techniques. Tilt-Shift photography is a very interesting style that takes a regular picture, usually of an event with people or buildings with vehicles, and makes the appearance seem like a miniature or toy-like scene. It reminds me of the miniature train sets that people used to collect where you can create a whole world with little cars, buildings, and people.

The photos appear to be sharpened a great deal in the center of the picture, with the sides blurred out and sometimes a slight fish-eye effect. The subjects are shot from a higher angle (to create the illusion of looking down at a mini-model. All you need is a tilt-shift lens, which creates shallow depth of field, and a few photoshop skills. Below are some examples:

Tennis Match with thousands of miniature fans.

High above an airport hanger. The plans being close together helps the effect.

Sunbathing at the beach. The water is blurred and the umbrellas really look tiny.
