Much design has been put into the 2008 presidential elections from both parties. Designing campaign advertisements, t-shirts, pins, stickers, and signs we see all over the road takes an emense amount of planning. Cafe Press, a popular custom online Shirt and Accessory store, announced that there were close to 3 million merchandise designs for Barack Obama alone. Everything from Shirts, to slip-on shoes, to custom bottles of Jones Soda have been designed to promote either candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election.
Today is Tuesday November 4th 2008; Election Day! One candidate gets to accomplish through the hard work of design, promotion and advertising while they other has to let it all go. The designs of some of the merchandise not only promote the particular candidate, but also bash and insult the opposing ones. One hints that neither are right and "Joe the Plumber" should be president. Here are a few samples:
