Taglines and Research

Do not use already drawn pictures. Find full pictures, simplify, and stylize. Using 1/100th of the detail once it is traced in illustrator. One dot looks like nothing, while 2 dots look like a face or eyes. We can represent characteristics with something that simple and still see it as a face. The Apple logo is still seen as an apple even though a real apple is so much more detailed. Understand the pattern, not the entire de
tail of a logo.

Illustrator is used for vector graphics, which are logos o
r typefaces drawn that use equations to calculate its smooth
ness despite the change of size. Raster Graphics (Look in your notes/instructions) Here's how to start:

  • FILE: Place image. Make a little smaller
  • Set up your pen tool and set the bottom fill tool up to "none" (the little red diagonal line)
  • Click on stroke box and set on black.
  • Make a stylized outline. Select the picture when done and delete to see your outline.
  • Select your outline, go to your fill box and select black to see how it looks filled.
  • Filter/Stylize/Round Corners
  • Adjustments -> Invert Colors (black background and white logo) and insert into the power point

Some famous taglines I have found:
(Some are short and to the point, and some have a go
od point but are very long.)
  • AVIS: "We Try Harder" (what to expect with attitude if you choose this company)
  • United Airlines: "Fly The Friendly Skies" (what you can do if you chose this company)
  • Coke: "Enjoy" (telling you that it will make you satisfied)
  • Rice Krispies: "Snap, Crackle, Pop" (using actual sounds of the product)
  • Greyhound: "Leave The Driving To Us" (giving the passenger comfort)
  • 3M: "Innovation" (the company is the definition of inventing)
  • American Express: "Don't Leave Home Without It" (this is important to you and you need it)
With my interest in music, and what I always tell the

people who continue to listen to my music, I always tell them to "Rock On." This is a very common and general saying. So Perhaps I could use a tagline such as:

" Keep On Rockin' "

Themes, Things, Actions, or Events that relate:
  • Music
  • Guitars, Pianos, Drums
  • Concerts
  • Jumping/Air Guitar
  • Fans rocking out
  • Amplifiers
  • Drum Sticks
  • Scissor Kicking
  • The Rock fist
